Infant and Toddler Ages Birth through 36 months

Any teachers who teach at a Montessori educational center in the Infant & Toddler Program are required to complete the American Montessori Institute’s Infant/Toddler training. This training consists of two parts: academic with 230 classroom instructional hours and Practicum with a minimum of 370 student teaching hours.

Certification

The Certificate of Completion is issued for satisfactory completion of the academic phase and the practicum phase, and the AMI Infant & Toddler Teacher Credential。

Application

Applicants must have at least a high school diploma, submit three letters of recommendation and one original transcript, have an interview with the director or a staff member, and complete an essay and survey. Applicants who learned English as another language, will be required to take the computer based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A total score of 79 or better on the iBT test will be required for acceptance. The applicant is responsible for registering, taking and the cost of the TOEFL.
